MOOSE Open Microphone-Spoken Word

 

*MOOSE Monthly Meeting held every second Wed from 7-9 pm

 

 North Star Cafe in Portland.

The Cafe is located on Congress St. across from the cemetery on the left on the way up Munjoy Hill, just before Washington Ave.

 

Open microphone for first hour is free

The Open Mic is followed by some brief announcements and an intermission which precedes our featured Performer.

The Featured Performing Storyteller for September is:

"The humble Farmer", Robert Skoglund

 

humble is listed as one of Maine's "notables" in a listing of Maine's most Fascinating people who have made remarkable accomplishments by the Maine State Library.


Robert has hosted a Friday night jazz program for 28 years on Maine Public Radio and can still be heard around the country today.
 Robert is known for his dry sophisticated humor and commentary, funny and biting serious at times. 

 

 He brings his characters like  Gramps Wiley, Uncle Ern, Winky or Stanley alive and makes you feel that
you have known them all your life.
 

Donations of $3.00 or more are appreciated for the Feature Performance.

 

All of our members are Enthusiastic about Storytelling and the general public is welcome to attend.
